Given the choice between a salad and a milkshake, every rare once in a while I prefer the milkshake. But only if that milkshake is sweet and delicious and cold and creamy and absolutely one hundred percent healthy and easy to digest. How is this possible? Check out the ingredients below:
1 large banana, frozen
2 cups vanilla hemp milk (or soy or rice or whatever you prefer)
1 – 2 cups raw spinach (baby spinach, or mature with stems removed)
3 pitted dates, 1 tablespoon almond butter, & 1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract OR
1 scoop vanilla Vega Sport Performance Protein
Blend until smooth and enjoy.
This makes a great breakfast on-the-go or post-workout recovery drink. The Vega protein powder is vegan-friendly and one of the few (maybe the only) non-whole food treats I allow myself on a regular basis. It’s sweetened with stevia and its protein comes exclusively from peas, alfalfa, and hemp. The big jar is expensive so get a trial-sized packet the first time to make sure you like it.
